Vi bör förhålla oss öppna till att ett samhälle med nya förutsättningar och nya krav också kan behöva utveckla nya former för utbildning. Samtidigt så ändras inte allt från grunden. Även om tekniken tillhandahåller nya verktyg och möjligheter är människor fortfarande människor. Därför har man självklart nytta av tidigare forskning kring bland annat lärande, undervisning, psykologi, sociologi och neurologi.
